NM Cabling have been appointed as an approved installer for Brand Rex structured cabling. The NM Cabling team will offer expertise in data cabling system design, Fibre Optic Cabling and Copper Data Cabling installations.
Brand-Rex is a leading global supplier of standards based structured cabling systems for data centres, Cat5e Cabling ,Cat6 Cabling, Cat6A Cabling, Cat7/7A Cabling and 10 Gig Cabling Networks
The Brand Rex structured cabling solutions will be primarily focused in London, The South East and throughout the UK and serviced from NM Cabling’s three offices in Rickmansworth, Andover and Central London

The Challenge Network is a growing charity and hence taking on several new offices through the UK. NM Cabling has been the preferred Data Cabling, Electrical and Fibre Optic installer for all these new locations.
The offices ranged from single floor locations to multiple offices spread throughout large city centre buildings.
Electrical Installation.
The electrical installation has included floor box relocations, lighting installations, new power installation, comms room power and miscellaneous power sockets throughout the commercial floor space.
All works have been accredited under the NICEIC accreditation
Structured Cabling Installation
The offices have been a range of 80-500 outlets and a mixture of cat5e installations and cat6 installations.
There have also been numerous relocations and amendments to current layouts to use the existing office cabling where possible.
All new structured cabling installations have been fully Fluke tested and Manufacturer warrantied.
Fibre Optic Cabling Installation
The majority of the sites have expanded from initial occupation and involved the requirement of fibre optic cabling links between existing cabinets to satellite cabinets in other parts of the floor and other parts of the building
In Waterloo a 400m fibre optic cabling installation was required down 8 floor along an underground car park and back up another part of the building.

Wi-Fi Installation
A large portion of the company's network is run over Wi-Fi and therefore a large amount of data cabling has been installed for this purpose involving lots of high level data cabling installations.
The Wi-Fi access points were also installed for later setup by the charities IT provider

Hotel Cabling and AV Installation

Structured Cabling installation, Audio Visual, WIFI and Telephone Installations for Hotels

NM Cabling have recently been tasked with several interesting projects for hotel structured cabling. This involved the whole technical package for the hotel and managing all technical installations alongside the structured cabling installation.

Hotel Cabling Installations are especially challenging since they typically involve an integrated system covering many guest rooms, public areas and administration systems.

Our most recent project was the 10 Manchester Street Hotel in Marylebone London which  is a 45 bedroom boutique hotel. We undertook the structured cabling installation, audio visual installation, wifi installation and telephone system installation. 

Owing to the style and nature of the building appropriate sympathetic routes and solutions had to be developed for the data cabling installation and terminations.

Client: London Borough of Barnet | Sector: Education | Duration: 2001-present

Since 2001 NM Cabling has been a preferred supplier to London Borough of Barnet Schools ICT department.
An average 15-20 schools per year has been serviced for Electrical Installations, Structured Cabling Installations, Fibre Optics Installations and Audio Visual Installations

Electrical Extension Leads

Correct Usage of Extension Leads

The right and wrong way to use them in your office

Some problems that can be experienced with extension leads can be as follows

• If an extension lead is not contained within desks and laying across access routes they can cause a dangerous trip hazard
• If being continually walked on and pulled by catching chairs and feet then the cable may become damaged, the cable sheath damaged and exposure to electrical shock
• Plugging one extension lead into another to create more sockets can cause the current to be exceeded and cause a possibly fire hazard
• Using an extension lead in the coiled position can cause a fire hazard

Best practice when installing extension leads

• Use manufacturer assembled extension leads and plug one lead into a dedicated socket or floor box.
• Use surge protected extension leads
• Use the correct rated extension lead for your application and equipment used
• Install the extension lead so none of the lead is on the floor or exposed to tripping, catching or damaged (i.e. via containment in desks, cable spines from floor boxes)
• Install additional wall / floor electrical sockets if you are overloading your existing sockets with large extension leads or joining them together

The Wellesley Yacht (ex Anedigmi) started refurbishment and upgrade in February 2015 in Antalya, Turkey. The yacht was extended by 6 metres and a total refurbishment was undertaken

Royal Mail Chelmsford - Data Cabling

Royal Mail Sorting Office Chelmsford - Data Cabling

NM Cabling start work in March on the overhaul of mail sorting machine locations within the Chelmsford Royal Mail Sorting Centre. 

 




Six of the huge sorting machines will be relocated over a period of  5 months and the project includes the relocation of fibre optic cabling & Cat6a cabling which will be installed at high level around the Royal Mail warehouse
